Starts a virtual machine (.vmx file) or team (.vmtm file).<\/p>\n

The default gui option starts the machine interactively,<\/p>\n

which is required to display a VMware user interface.<\/p>\n

The nogui option suppresses the user interface,<\/p>\n

including startup dialog box, to allow noninteractive<\/p>\n

scripting.<\/td>\n

Stops a virtual machine (.vmx file) or team (.vmtm file).<\/p>\n

Use the soft parameter to power off the guest after<\/p>\n

power off the guest without running scripts, as if you<\/p>\n

pressed the power button. The default is to use the<\/p>\n

powerType specified in the .vmx file, if present.<\/td>\n

Suspends a virtual machine (.vmx file) or team (.vmtm)<\/p>\n

without shutting down, so local work can resume later.<\/p>\n

The soft parameter suspends the guest after running<\/p>\n

system scripts. On Windows guests, these scripts release<\/p>\n

the IP address. On Linux guests, the scripts suspend<\/p>\n

networking. The hard parameter suspends the guest<\/p>\n

without running the scripts. The default is to use the<\/p>\n

powerType specified in the .vmx file, if present.<\/p>\n

To resume virtual machine operation after suspend, use<\/p>\n

the start command. On Windows, the IP address is<\/p>\n

retrieved. On Linux, networking is restarted.<\/td>\n
